1980s JOHN CHARLES Metallic Gown-Off Shoulder Basque Waist Cocktail Dress

Late 1980s architectural ball gown featuring a deeply structured, boned long line basque bodice that dips into a sharp v point at both the front and the back waist. It visually cinches the waist before blooming out into a massive gathered maxi skirt. The fabric is an incredibly rich iridescent bronze copper taffeta blend that gives a dual tone liquid sheen depending on how the light catches the fold. They feature intricate vertical ruching and structured fabric rosettes at the shoulders giving it an elegant high drama regency meets 80s couture romance.

Condition - Very Good, the sides seams have been altered previously to extend the size which was done by opening the seams in the lining and later wasn't stitched down(see photos), threads appears a little loose at the shoulders.

Measurements are taken flat from seam to seam, due to human error allow 1-2 cm difference.
